I used to water it with tap water but this caused the tips of the leaves to turn brown. Ever since I started watering the plant with filtered or bottled water, the tips stopped turning brown. Before I got a filter system, I was using bottled water. I always used the generic grocery store brand of drinking water but one day Sparkletts was on sale for the same price. Figuring I would "treat" my palm tree to some brand name drinking water. Within a day of using the Sparkletts water, yellow mushrooms began growing in the pot! They would sprout, grow, then die all within the same day. This happened every day I watered my tree with the Sparkeltts water. When I began using other brands, and later filtered water, it never happened again. Moral of the story? What the hell are we drinking in Sparkletts water!?!?!
